Camptown, Flamingo battle to draw

Camptown and Flamingo battled to an exciting 3-3 draw when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Beer League continued Thursday at the Georgetown Football Club ground.

Richie Richards gave Camptown the lead in the eighth minute, racing into the right side of the box before placing a shot into the lower left corner.

Flamingo responded in the 31st minute, levelling the score from the penalty spot through Orlando Ricketts.

Ryan October pushed Flamingo into the lead in the 56th minute, sprinting into the right of the box before dribbling the trailing defender and finishing into the centre of the net.

The seesaw nature of the contest resumed continued when Rawle Adams netted three minutes later with a strike into the right corner, from within the centre of the box.

The twists in the fixture continued as Leon Yaw propelled Flamingo into the advantage once more in the 62nd minute, directing his header unchallenged into the left corner following a right side cross within the six yard area, after an initial free-kick was not properly cleared from a save by the ‘keeper.

Camptown, though, would not be denied and Anthony Sancho found the back of the net in the 72nd minute through a penalty strike into the lower right corner following a handled ball.

Camptown remain in seventh position on five points while Flamingo remain in the cellar position on four points.

Meanwhile Riddim Squad climbed to third position in the standings, hammering Beacons 6-1. Amos Ramsay recorded a double in the 10th and 63rd minutes while Kevin Agard bagged a brace in the 59th and 60th minutes.

Netting solo efforts were Wendell Joseph and Sceyon Hope in the seventh and 37th minute. On target in the loss was Shaquille Cornwall in the 32nd minute.

Due to the win, Riddim Squad, on 11 points are now in third position while Beacons remain in the cellar position on one point.

The competition continues tomorrow at the same venue. In the opening fixture at 18:30hrs, Beacons will oppose Flamingo while at 20:30hrs, it will be Kitty versus Campbellville when Northern Rangers tackle Camptown.
