Kuru Kururu couple found dead, murder/suicide suspected

The lifeless bodies of a Kuru Kururu couple were this morning discovered in their home by their children with suspected stab wounds following an argument on Monday evening.

Dead are Naco Malika Hale, 34, a cook and her husband Alwyn Butcher, a minibus conductor.

The bodies were discovered around 8am today in the bedroom of their Adventist Church Street, Kuru Kururu home.

Police are treating the discovery as a murder/suicide.

The police today issued the following statement:

Police are investigating the murder of Naco Hale, 34, and her reputed husband Alwin Bleacher, 48, of lot 522 Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke/Linden Highway which occurred at the said address between 22:00hrs yesterday and 05:30hrs today.

The couple was found motionless in their bedroom with multiple stab wounds about their bodies and a pair of blood-stained scissors, was found next to the body of the female.

Investigations revealed that about 20:00hrs yesterday, the couple was engaged in a heated argument in respect of a pending criminal charge against Bleacher who was charged with wounding committed of the eldest of their four children, last August; after which everyone (parents and four children) retired to bed in their respective rooms.

The children made the discovery and alerted neighbours.

The bodies are at Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
