(Jamaica Gleaner) A female driver walked away unhurt after her car ran off the road near the Portmore Toll Plaza this morning and ended up in the sea.

According to the police, the mishap happened after the driver of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) suffered a seizure, causing his vehicle to swerve into the path of the woman’s Toyota Corolla motorcar.

The driver of the SUV and his female passenger were transported to hospital by citizens.

The police say they have no information on their condition.

The police Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reports that about 8 o’clock the Corolla was heading towards Kingston in the left lane of the Portmore Toll Road.

It’s reported that the Mitsubishi SUV was travelling in the right lane when the driver suffered a seizure.

According to CCU, the SUV swerved to the left and collided with the Corolla, pushing it into the sea before coming to a stop near the water.

The female driver of the Corolla was reportedly rescued by fishermen.
