President should not be referred to as ‘Prezzie’ by radio host

Dear Editor,

On Wednesday, January 17, close to 17:00 hours, I was in a hire car on my way home. A radio programme was on. The host of the programme referred to the President of the Republic of Guyana  as “ Prezzie” several times. As a citizen of Guyana , I consider this very disrespectful to the President and a serious apology from this station may be in place unless the President accepts this mode of address.

Yours faithfully,

Krishna Nand Prasad

Blocked flag raising

Dear Editor, It is baffling that a national event, like flag raising, could be blocked for lack of police permission on the one hand and the alleged non-agreement of the featured speaker on the other hand.
