Free press needs to be impartial

Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to ask the media to be impartial and hold both the Government and the political Opposition accountable.

While a free press is important to our fledgling democracy, they also need to be impartial in the discharge of their duties and be nonaligned.

Governments, be it PPP or PNC, are re-known for spending Guyanese monies without providing a reasonably good service. They are quick to flash a big budget without resolving Guyana’s many problems. Hence, they need to be held accountable.

Focus on the issues as you keep up the good work Stabroek News, Kaieteur News and Guyana Times.

And, expect as you become/remain nonaligned for all sides to want to attack you with fallacious claims that you are supporting the other side.

Yours faithfully,

Sean Ori
