Dear Editor,
The Ministry of Public Infrastructure wishes to notify the general public of the unforeseen delay in the rehabilitation of the Itaballi Landing to Puruni Landing road due to inclement weather and continued damage to the route by overladen trucks.
This project, currently under the control and management of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), commenced on October 17, 2018 and is expected for completion in January 2019. Therefore, while this project does not fall under the remit of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure at this time, the Ministry remains committed to working with the GGMC to ensure that there is no prolonged disturbance to commuters. The Ministry wishes to further affirm that this road will be a priority in 2019 and is slated for continued maintenance during this time.
The Ministry of Public Infrastructure regrets any inconvenience caused to commuters in the affected areas due to this delay.
