Support poured in yesterday for Walter Grant-Stuart who is gearing up to create history by becoming the first Guyanese rider to compete at a UCI C1 Para-Cycling event scheduled to be staged on April 28 and 29 in Montreal, Canada.

The differently abled Grant-Stuart was the recipient of US$800 to help offset expenses during the sojourn.

USA based riders, Aubrey Gordon, Monty Davis and Gavin Loman along with local Motor racers, Kevin Jeffrey and Andrew King along with sports enthusiast Rudolph `Ducky’ Singh were Grant-Stuart’s benefactors.

The former national road race champion will compete in the Time Trial and the Road Race events. He needs in excess of $400,000 to blanket his expenses like airfare, meals, accommodation and registration.
