Barbados seen as least corrupt in the region

(Barbados Nation) The perceived level of public sector corruption in Barbados has not declined, but it is the lowest in the Caribbean.

That’s based on the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International.

The ranking of 180 countries placed Barbados at 25th out of 180 countries for the second successive year, with a score of 68 out of 100.

Barbados also scored 68 in 2017 and 61 in the previous year, and, based on the 2018 index, the country is least corrupt in the Americas after Canada (9), the United States (US) (22) and Uruguay (23).

In the Caribbean, Barbados ranks highest, followed by The Bahamas (28), St Vincent and the Grenadines (41), Dominica (45) St Lucia (50), Grenada (53), Jamaica (70), Trinidad and Tobago (78).
