GGMC company secretary injured in Montrose shooting

The Police say they are investigating the shooting of Jacque Foster, age 44, a Company Secretary employed with GGMC  Montrose, ECD which occurred yesterday at about 7 pm  by an identifiable male who was armed with a handgun. The incident occurred at Broad Street, Montrose ECD.

Foster sustained a gunshot wound to the right hand and fired twice at the assailant using his licensed firearm, the police said.

Investigations revealed that the victim left his office at GGMC which is located on Brickdam in his motor vehicle  for his residence.  

As the victim reached Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD) he turned north into  Broad Street, Montrose, ECD. At that time  he noticed a male standing about fifteen feet away from the corner facing east who appeared to be urinating.  As he drove past, the police said that the suspect turned around and pointed a hand gun at Foster and discharged a round hitting him on his right hand and in the process shattering the right side front door glass.

As a result, the victim pulled out his licensed firearm and discharged two rounds at the suspect and drove home where he was subsequently escorted to the Woodlands Hospital by his wife and treated by a doctor on duty who extracted the warhead and sent him away.
