Daughter, accused hitman sentenced to death over murder of Ruby businessman

Bibi Nazeela Habiboodean and the man she man she hired to kill her father—Ruby businessman, Habiboodean—were this afternoon sentenced to death after a jury found them guilty of murder.

Habiboodean and her accomplice, Linden Lewis, where handed the death sentence by Justice Sandil Kissoon, who described the killing of the septuagenarian as reprehensible, which he said was caused by a daughter’s “greed” for wealth.

The allegation against Bibi and Lewis, called “Bullet,” of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) is that they murdered the businessman on February 15th, 2008.

They pleaded not guilty to the capital charge when it was read to them.

Seventy-six-year-old Habiboodean of Lot 111 Ruby, EBE, died at the Woodlands Hospital on February 15th—one day after he was badly beaten at his home.
