From Monday, November 29th, the Licence Revenue Operations (LRO) office will be relocated to the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) parking lot at Lamaha Railway Embankment, Camp and Lamaha streets.
A release from the GRA today said that the move is being made to enable the demolishing of the current building at Smyth and Princes Sts and the construction of a new one.
As a result, the office at Smyth and Princes streets will be closed on Friday November 26th 2021 from 12 midday and operations at the new location will commence from Monday November 29th 2021.
According to the GRA release, services to be offered at the new location are motor vehicle registration, change of registration, transfer of registration, motor vehicle examination and motor vehicle licensing.
Operations at the Railway Embankment location will be from Mondays to Thursday from 7 am to 3.30 pm and on Fridays from 7 am to 2.30 pm.
Auto dealers will be granted three half-hour slots daily to complete their transactions during the allotted time of Mondays to Thursday – 7 am – 7: 30 am, 11:30 am – 12 pm and 3 pm to 3.30 pm and on Fridays from 2 pm to 2.30 pm.
GRA said that a drive-through system will be in effect for persons whose only transaction is the purchasing of a motor vehicle licence.
In addition, persons who are seeking registration and examination services will be facilitated by appointment. This includes hire cars in corporate yellow and mini buses to be registered in the ‘G’ series. Appointments can be made via email Iroappointments@gra.gov.gy or WhatsApp on 655-0806 during the said business hours. Persons visiting to lodge documents for vehicle registration must also present the vehicle on the date of appointment.
Customers will access the facility from Camp Road, using the inner lane of the eastern carriageway that flows south towards Lamaha Street. The first gate, near to the northern side of the facility will be used for entry, while the other gate further south will be the exit point.
All COVID-19 emergency protocols are still in effect.
