CANU in Lamaha Gardens cocaine bust, four held

Yesterday, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) officers conducted an operation at a residence in Bel Air Avenue, Lamaha Gardens  and found two parcels of cocaine and an amount of ganja. Four persons are in custody, one of them a  minor.

CANU said in a statement today that Keith King 55, is no stranger to it having been charged in the case where cocaine was found in a lumber shipment in 2013. Also held were Dexter Stewart; 49, Altheann Lyte; 33, and an underaged male.

They were escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics. The narcotics tested positive for cocaine and cannabis, CANU said. The cocaine had a total weight of 2.292 kg, with a street value of approximately $2.4 million. The cannabis weighed 64 grams.

All of the suspects are presently in custody pending further investigations.
