Two sentenced to death over murder of phone card distributor

Mastermind Mark Dhuman and Abdullah Azimullah were this afternoon sentenced to death for the 2017 murder of Berbice phone card distributor, Danian Jagdeo who they shot and robbed as the father of five plied his trade.

Meanwhile, their accomplices Zahir Abdul and Shannon Batson were handed life sentences with the possibility of parole only after they would have completed serving a minimum of 35 years.

The youngest convict in the lot who was 19 years old at the time, Satesh Budhram, has been sentenced to 17 years.

The five had shot and killed Jagdeo during a robbery on February 8th, 2017, at Adventure, Corentyne.

They were all convicted on May 13th, but Justice Sandil Kissoon had deferred their sentencing to first hear a number of social reports.
