Royden Williams aka `Smallie’ this afternoon escaped from the Mazaruni Prison with assistance of persons from the outside.
The Joint Services are currently pursuing the escapee. The Guyana Prison Service (GPS) says it will provide more details as they become available.
Williams has been convicted of murders stemming from the Bartica massacre of 2008 and other attacks. He had been sentenced to death in September last year over the shooting death of Guyana Defence Force rank Ivor Williams on January 23rd, 2008.
Royden Williams had previously escaped from prison in 2017.
