Trinidad businessman gunned down at workplace

(Trinidad Guardian) A 49-year-old businessman was shot and killed by gunmen at his Valencia workplace yesterday afternoon.

Police said Andy Francois was supervising workers at his stockyard, called Zoom to Boom on the Valencia Old Road, at around 1.50 pm when a car drove onto the compound and two gunmen got out. Francois saw the gunmen and ran away but was chased and shot.

Workers at the business place ran away on hearing the gunshots but returned shortly after to see Francois bleeding. Valencia police visited the scene with a District Medical Officer who declared Francois dead at the scene. Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
