New Demerara Harbour Bridge Project 27% completed – Edghill

During a visit and inspection of the project site yesterday,  Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill said he was pleased with the pace of work, and urged the contractor to continue this way to meet the December 2024 deadline.

A release from the ministry said that Edghill was given a detailed account of work completed thus far. He was also able to visit the temporary bridge currently being installed for usage during construction of the 2.65 kilometres long four-lane high span bridge.

In 2022, the Government of Guyana signed a US$260 million contract with China Railway Construction (International) Limited (CRCCL) for the construction of the new Demerara River Bridge.
