(Trinidad Guardian) The family of one of three men who were murdered in Arima believe he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time yesterday evening.

The victims were identified as Andrew Rose, 57, Lance Hill, 30, and 46-year-old Troy Marcelle Caldon.

Police said officers received a report of a shooting near the Lalaja Junction, Blanchisseuse Road, Arima, around 4.50 pm.

Arima police and Northern Division officers visited the scene and found a burgundy Toyota Corolla on the side of the road with three bodies inside.

Officers said Rose was slumped behind the driver’s side seat. Hill was in the front passenger side seat while Caldon was found in the back seat.

The trio had gunshots wounds about their bodies.

A district medical officer visited the scene and declared the men dead.

Crime Scene investigators found 25 spent 9 mm shells at the scene.

The vehicle the men were found in was towed to the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) in Cumuto for further analysis.

Guardian Media arrived on the scene as homicide investigators were processing it last night.

Relatives of the three men stood silently in the dark as they waited for their bodies to be removed.

Rose’s son, Aaron Martinez, told Guardian Media that he saw his father last week. He said his father worked as a driver for Hill, who grew produce.

“He wasn’t involved in any criminal thing. I honestly just feel it was him being in the wrong place at the wrong time with maybe the wrong person.”
