(Trinidad Express) Popular disc jockey Clyde Jemmot died in a car accident this morning.
Jemmot who worked at radio station 96.1 WEFM was in a vehicle heading along the recently opened San Fernando to Point Fortin Archibald-De Leon Highway. The vehicle flipped before it crashed into a light pole near the Guapo roundabout around 4.30 a.m. Jemmot was thrown from the vehicle. Another occupant of the car, Johan Redhead, was hospitalized.
Jemmot had earlier played music at a party in Point Fortin.
Scores of people from the entertainment fraternity extended condolences including actress and former presenter on the radio station, Nikki Crosby, who called him her brother and said that she had called his name on Saturday. “Hadn’t seen you since I’ve been back. R. I. P you were loved Condolences to my 96 family”
Howie “HowieTee” Richards said that he was joking with Jemmott on Saturday in a cookout and then had “To Get Up To This Horrible News”.
A post under the name Ian Eligon said, “Another soldier gone RIP Clyde the law Jemmott. Gone too soon and way too suddenly. Easy bro you were one of the coolest genuine cats.”

Jemmot was also described in other posts as a person who encouraged others in the industry. It was said that his death had “hit hard” and that he was “gone too soon”.
