Cattle rustling and the illegal slaughter of animals have been longstanding issues affecting residents and farmers of Cane Grove and the Police say they have made significant strides in addressing these and various other concerns affecting residents of the community.

Assistant Commissioner Khali Pareshram led a Police team to the area yesterday where they met and interacted with the residents.

A release from the police said that Pareshram ensured that the issues and concerns raised by the residents were thoroughly examined and appropriate measures were put in place to rectify these and/or mitigate potential risks.

Among the key issues discussed were cattle rustling, illegal animal slaughter, the flow of information to the Police, noise nuisance, use of electric bikes, and utilisation of huts in the back dam for checkpoints.

In relation to cattle rustling and the illegal slaughter of animals, the Police team explored strategies to enhance security measures.
