(Trinidad Guardian) A police officer has been killed following a shooting outside a bar in Couva in the wee hours of this morning.
The officer has been identified as Cpl Carlon Mitchell. Reports indicate that gunshots were heard coming from the vicinity of Lolita Bar; Southern Main Road, Mc Bean, Couva around 1 am today.
First responders arrived to find Mitchell lying face down on the pavement. He had been shot several times in the chest.
Investigations are ongoing.
