Logger murdered by friend at Hururu

The police say that are investigating the murder of Marcus Adrian, a 36-year-old logger of Hururu Mission, Upper Berbice River, which occurred on 2024-03-18 at about 12:30hrs at 7 Mile,  Hururu Mission. Police arrested the suspect, a 28-year-old tractor operator of Hururu Mission.

 

Investigations revealed that Adrian and the suspect were well-known to each other since they were friends and used to cut logs together. Investigations also indicate that the men were consuming High Wine, Guinness and Turbo and were allegedly intoxicated. They had a misunderstanding, and the suspect threw Adrian to the ground and dealt him several chops to his neck and face. Adrian reportedly got up and ran, but he collapsed at the centre of the trail, the police say.

 

The suspect was apprehended by the Toshao and handed over to the Police. The body, which was found lying on the Hururu Trail in a pool of blood, was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex. The scene was processed and photographed.

 

The suspect remains in Police custody.
