(Trinidad Express) One of the promoters of Carnival mas band Have Ah Time was shot and killed in Diego Martin on Tuesday night.
The victim is Matthew Khan, the owner of MK Promotions, an outfit that hosted car shows. Khan also owned MK Auto Spa, a car wash located off Saddle Road, Maraval.
Police said that around 11 p.m. residents of Waterwheel Road, River Estate, Diego Martin, heard several gunshots.
They called the police and officers the Western Division Task Force came to the location, where they found Khan’s body.
Police said he had been shot multiple times and had already died by the time they arrived.
The Express visited Khan’s home at Agnes Field Road, off Richplain Road, Diego Martin, where an elderly relative said the family “do not have anything to say at this time”.
The Express also tried reaching out to media personality Sunny Bling (Kerron Sealy), one of the people behind the mas band, but there was no response up to last night.
He did, however, post on his Instagram account a photo of himself and Khan with a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song, “Crossroads”, playing in the background.
The 2024 murder toll stood at 124 up to last night, while the figure on this date last year was 130.
