NACRA to rugby champs rescue

The region’s governing body for rugby, North America Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) will assist Guyana’s 26-member contingent with airfare and accommodation expenses for the finals of the NACRA 15s championships in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Clive ‘The Punisher’ Atwell (12-1-1, 7 KOs) returned to Guyana yesterday after suffering his first professional defeat on Saturday night in Mexico following a technical decision loss to WBC world featherweight champion, Jhonny Gonzalez  (56-8, 47 KOs).

World title hopeful, Clive ‘The Punisher’ Atwell (12-1-1, 7 KOs) suffered his first professional defeat on Saturday night in Mexico following a technical decision to loss to WBC world featherweight champion, Jhonny Gonzalez  (56-8, 47 KOs).

Score’s Even avenges loss to Treacle

There was no upsetting Score’s Even this time. Guyana’s premier thoroughbred galloped to a gate to pole victory yesterday in the feature A and Lower event of the PPP Independence Cup, beating Treacle by about eight lengths.

Guyana’s Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman 49(38)-12(2)-0 unanimously defeated Jamaican, Kevin ‘Bus Boy’Hylton 5(3)-4(1)-0 when this season’s Wray and Nephew Caribbean Contender Series continued on Wednesday night.
