Greaves scorches field to win 13th local signature event of the season

In sweltering conditions at the National Park yesterday, Roraima Bikers Club’s (RBC) Alanzo Greaves won his 13th local signature race for the season when he scorched a star-studded field of rivals in the feature 35-lap event of the National Sports Commission (NSC) sponsored 11-race cycle programme.

Champion powerlifter returns to hero’s welcome

The nation’s youngest ever world champion, Gumendra Shewdas returned to Guyana last night to a hero’s welcome after lifting the overall gold on Monday in the 53kg class at the World Sub Juniors and Juniors Championships in Killeen, Texas.

Berbician, Gumendra Shewdas created history yesterday by becoming Guyana’s youngest World Champion when he squatted, bench pressed and dead lifted his way to the top of the podium at the World Juniors and Sub Juniors Men’s Championships in Killeen, Texas.
