Digicel raps GTT over bypass, tax allegations

Digicel yesterday said that it had noted with great disappointment GTT’s most recent statements to the press in which it “repeated untrue allegations and more specifically claimed that Digicel has denied the Government of Guyana payment of taxes”.

Funds trickling into city rates recovery programme

As the Mayor and City Council’s (M&CC) rates recovery drive continues, City Treasurer, Ron McAlman says the council has been able to recover some $14.6 million out of an outstanding balance of $382 million for the Kingston, North Cummingsburg, South Cummingsburg and Lacytown areas.

Three years for drug mule

A drug mule was yesterday sentenced to three years in jail and fined $4,060,800 for trafficking three pounds of cocaine, while her alleged supplier was remanded for possession of almost five pounds of the same drug.
