Needy children’s fund donates to jaguar attack, brain cancer girls

Radio’s Needy Children’s Fund (RNCF) yesterday made donations to Jasmine Joseph, the 3-year-old girl who was mauled by a jaguar on December 27 and Reanna Edwin, a 4-year-old girl with brain cancer.

Drama director, ministry at odds over NCC finances

The Director of the National Drama Festival (NDF) and the Ministry of Culture are at odds over the National Cultural Centre (NCC), with the latter saying the facility is not earning enough to stay afloat and the former refuting this.

No date yet for IACHR hearing on Isseneru land rights petition

No date has yet been set for a hearing of the petition by the Amerindian community of Isseneru, which last year asked the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) to apply measures to uphold its rights over both titled and traditionally-owned lands, in light of concerns about mining claims and what it calls the failure of the authorities to protect its rights.
