Brazilian miner shot dead in northwest

A Brazilian miner was shot dead and another man wounded when they were attacked by gunmen around 8 this morning in the Barama area, some 100 km from Port Kaituma, North West District and a police team has since been dispatched to the area.

Mon Repos electrician dies after hit by car

A Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) electrician died on Sunday night after a taxi driver attempted to dislodge him from the bonnet of his car by driving into a pile of sand, according to relatives but the police said the man was struck down as he walked along the Good Hope Railway Embankment road.
