PM orders full probe of questioned spending at Chronicle

Following a report that more than $5 million was spent in three months on social media and other items, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo has ordered a full investigation into the spending at the state-owned Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL) under the leadership of General Manager Sherod Duncan.

Foulis boy died from perforated lung

As the police await legal advice, an autopsy performed on the remains of Satesh Sookdeo, the 21-year-old man who was stabbed to death on Saturday evening allegedly by his father at their Foulis, East Coast Demerara home, stated that he died as a result of a perforation of the lung due to a stab wound to the chest.

Cooper St man now on bodily harm charge

Malcolm Collie, the 27-year-old Cooper Street, Albouystown attempted murder accused, was yesterday granted his release on $100,000 bail after the charge against him was withdrawn and a lesser charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm was laid.
