TCL profit falls 61%

(Trinidad Guardian) Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) recorded a 61 per cent decline in its after-tax profit for the three-month period ending March 31, 2017, the regional group headquartered in Claxton Bay reported yesterday.

GPSU says Yarde re-elected president

The Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU) yesterday released results from its recent elections indicating that incumbent Patrick Yarde has been re-elected as president for another term, while his lone challenger Gregory Gaspar and his supporters last evening said they were still awaiting a formal declaration despite their concerns about the integrity of the process.

Judges interviewed to fill appellate court vacancies

Acting Chief Justice Roxane George SC and long serving Judge Dawn Gregory were recently interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to fill vacancies on the Appeal Court, according to sources, who say that steps are being taken to compile a new list of nominees for President David Granger’s consideration.

The Government-Analyst Food and Drug Department (GAFDD) has issued a consumer advisory to consumers and the general public about the canned fish product with a given common name “Jack Mackerel” which is either Pacific Jack Mackerel also known as Californian Jack Mackerel, or Chilean Jack Mackerel also known Inca Scad.
