Berbice engineers had offered reclamation solution to Demerara River incursion

A Berbice-based group of engineers had proposed a long-term solution to the problematic areas along the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) which are threatened by the nearby river but the group’s ideas were never considered.

Annandale pump station filter wrecked

A year-old drainage filter installed at the Annandale Pump Station has been wrecked and the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) is replacing it.

Miner robbed by gunmen at Port Kaituma

The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 3 pm yesterday, at Big Creek, Port Kaituma, NWD, during which miner Reval Wong, 25 years, was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
