Gov’t proposing tougher penalties over traffic carnage

In response to the large number of motor vehicular accidents, inclusive of those resulting in fatalities on the public roadways, specifically caused by an unacceptable high incidence of drunken driving, the Government of Guyana has made a decision to take a series of measures to confront this serious problem.

Amelia’s Ward squatters assigned house lots by CH&PA

A team from the Central Housing & Planning Authority (CH&PA), led by the Chief Executive Officer, Sherwyn Greaves yesterday returned to Linden, Region Ten, to honour a commitment made on Monday to provide house lots to squatters whose structures were recently removed to make way for a housing scheme road.
