Ebola death toll in east Congo outbreak climbs above 2,000

GOMA, Democratic Republic of Congo (Reuters) – The death toll from Democratic Republic of Congo’s year-long Ebola outbreak has climbed above 2,000, government data showed on Friday, as responders battle to overcome community mistrust and widespread security problems.

Trump says Florida faces ‘absolute monster’ hurricane

MIAMI/NEW YORK,  (Reuters) – Florida residents yesterday were bracing for a hurricane that was threatening to smack into the centre of the state over the Labor Day weekend, and President Donald Trump said it appeared the storm’s winds would be “unbelievably high.”

Trump cancels trip, Florida widens state of emergency as hurricane looms

MIAMI, (Reuters) – President Donald Trump on Thursday canceled a trip to Poland and Florida’s governor expanded a state of emergency due to Hurricane Dorian, which is forecast to strengthen into a highly dangerous Category 4 storm during the weekend before hitting the state’s Atlantic coast with heavy rains and strong winds.
