Dear Editor, The recent discussion that took place pertaining to the fees to be charged for the use of the Anna Regina Car Park was very interesting, and deserved the space and time in the printed and electronic media it was given.

Dear Editor, In their manifesto, the APNU+AFC at page 13 promised to “implement the Public Procurement Laws, ensure transparency and accountability in government by granting access to citizens of all aspects of the government’s transactions and activities.”

Dear Editor, As one who was shortlisted for the Guyana Prize for Literature in the Best Book of Drama section, I attended the presentation ceremony which was held at the Pegasus Hotel.

Dear Editor, It has been more than three weeks since the Guyanese public was made aware of the request by the Chinese company, Bai Shanlin, for an extension of two years to deliver on its obligation to establish a wood processing plant here, and thereby halt the continuous rape of our forest resources and the wholesale exploitation of the Guyanese populace through the exportation of logs.

Dear Editor, I refer to an article published on page 3 of the Guyana Times of December 1 under the caption ‘Felix sends GRO’s Head on leave,’ and one published on page 4 of the Kaieteur News on December 2 under the caption ‘PPP castigates Ministry of Citizenship.’

Dear Editor, I was just about done with the corporal punishment debate when I got the kind of jolt one gets when, while munching on a mouthful of delicious curry and roti, one crunches down on a grain of sand in the mix.

Dear Editor, An issue which I think Guyanese need to seriously address is our attitude towards Europeans, Americans, and white people in general.

Dear Editor, The Stabroek News of December 3, reports “elation” on the part of labour and “happiness” on that of the political directorate at the decision by the Cabinet to restore payments for overtime to bauxite workers as tax free.

Dear Editor, There is some news that former PPP Minister of Health Dr Ramsammy is now lobbying for the repeal of the homophobic laws in Guyana and Caricom.

Dear Editor, Please permit me to make two brief comments on aspects of your editorial captioned ‘Street renaming’ (Sunday Stabroek, Nov 29).

Dear Editor, The Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) was first publicly discussed immediately before the May 2015 election when Exxon disclosed a “significant” find of oil reserves.

Dear Editor, I refer to a letter which was written by Mr Conrad Barrow, which appeared in your edition of Friday, November 27, and captioned ‘RED has revolutionised entertainment in Guyana.’

Dear Editor, Please permit me to compliment Minister of Social Cohesion Amna Ally, in congratulating the residents of De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, for having a bridge constructed thus enabling schoolchildren easy access to their school.

Dear Editor, The government’s mouthpiece, the Guyana Chronicle, stated on August 14, 2015 that the Steering Committee on Constitutional Reform was established with attorney Nigel Hughes as convener (‘Steering Committee on Constitutional Reform established -Attorney Nigel Hughes is convenor’).

Dear Editor, Having traversed over 90% of the major and intermediate roads in this country, including the hinterland over the years, I have grown accustomed to the rude, disrespectful and uncouth manner in which passengers are treated when there is no alternative to the minibuses.
