Cell phone dealers must register by month end

– GNBS
The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) is advising all cellular phone dealers to ensure that their businesses are registered by June 30 or risk the Bureau placing their instruments “on hold”.

In a press release the GNBS said it had noted a significant reduction in the number of cell phone dealers who have registered this year when compared with last year.

The Bureau said it is mandatory that cell phone dealers register before they operate. It said too it will publish a list of all unregistered dealers by the deadline to guide the purchase of this commodity.

Meanwhile, the GNBS advises consumers to make purchases only from registered dealers where they could obtain quality phones, written warranties and receipts and redress in the event that their phones become defective.

Registered dealers are urged to post prominently, their registration certificates to provide guidance to customers.
