The damaged fence of the Christ Church Secondary School at Middle and Camp Streets.According to reports, at approximately 3.35 am, PLL 845, a black pick-up owned by the Guyana Police Force, slammed into the concrete fence of the school.

When Stabroek News visited the scene shortly after 1 pm on Friday, the damage done to the Camp Street fence of the school was evident. A section of the fence was smashed in and the remains of the concrete structure was scattered in the immediate area.

According to the security officer on duty yesterday afternoon no one saw how the pick-up ended up slamming into the fence. However, the guard believes that the vehicle might have been speeding along Middle Street when its driver lost control.

The school’s Head Teacher was in a meeting at the time and was unable to make a comment. However, this newspaper understands that the gap in the fence needs to be mended as soon as possible since it gives direct access to the school’s premises.
