City Council opens complaints desk

The Mayor and City Council says its complaints desk is open to the public.
In a press release the council said it hoped the facility will build a closer relationship between the municipality and the public; provide a channel for feedback and evaluation of the municipal services and provide a more effective response to problems in the local communities.

Further, it said, the desk would be used to create a more transparent communication channel with the public and enhance the M&CC’s image as a citizens’ advocate.

The council also said the desk will assist in the redress of complaints from citizens on issues related to solid waste management, environmental issues, unauthorised encroachments on reserves, roads and drainage.
