A miner of Moruca, North West District was discovered dead at Perseverance Backdam, Arakaka on Sunday afternoon.

Police in a press statement said that their investigations revealed that 23-year-old Richard Moses was mining in a pit at the Backdam when it caved in on him. The incident occurred at approximately 5pm.

Moses was rushed to the Port Kaituma Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
