Farm man denies unlawful wounding charge

A man who is accused of unlawfully assaulting another man was granted bail yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Trevor Williams of Farm Public Road, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful wounding.

It is alleged that on October 3 at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, Williams unlawfully and maliciously wounded Tekchan Monram.

The prosecution made no objections to Williams’s bail application and it was subsequently granted in the sum of $50,000.

The magistrate then ordered that Williams return to Court One on December 11.
