Emperor remanded on two counts of armed robbery

A 20-year-old man who allegedly robbed two persons of a quantity of cash among other items by using a gun and then a cutlass was remanded to prison yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Kelvin Emperor was not required to plead to two indictable counts of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that on November 23, Emperor used a gun to rob Trevor Brandt of two cell phones valued $12,000, a quantity of Digicel Flex cards valued $16,000 and $16,000 in cash.

It is also alleged that on December 8, Emperor used a cutlass to rob Fitzroy Cummings of two cell phones valued $94,000.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Emperor be remanded to prison and that he appear again in court on January 10.
