We need a good movie theatre complex

Dear Editor,
Guyana keeps developing but there continues to be a lack of recreational facilities for families. Of course we have the Mall but that is mainly for shopping. What Guyana is lacking is a good movie theatre complex. You might think it is only the United States of America that has such movie theatres, but that is not true. Even Trinidad, that is 55 minutes away there is a place called Movie Town, with a movie theatre surrounded by places like restaurants and stores.

As a teenager my friends and I do not have a lot places to go to spend our recreational time without alcohol being served. The movie theatres in the country are not in good condition and our limited places of entertainment grow stale over time. What I am saying is we just want a proper movie theatre for entertainment purposes, as a lot of countries have them. They do not have to be big and fancy, but they could at least have some order and good conditions inside them like movie theatres should have.

The Mall was a great start. As I stated above, I would also like to suggest that if someone builds a movie theatre, no alcohol should be served and there should be strict security. Guyana needs to develop many more places of recreation that do not serve alcohol.
Yours faithfully,
Brendon Sachin Khan
