As they did some 36 years ago, the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) through its El Dorado brand rum, has once again stepped forward to partner the Kennard memorial Turf Club for its upcoming event on Sunday.

DDL has agreed to sponsor the feature event at each of the Club’s four race meets of the year.

At a press briefing yesterday DDL agreed to sponsor the feature event and presented retired Chief Justice Cecil Kennard with the championship trophy for the `C’ and Lower category race.

The Kennard Memorial Turf Club will stage the Indian Arrival Day meet on Sunday. In brief remarks after the presentation which was held in Kennard’s office, Wines and Spirits brand manager, Maria Munroe, expressed her company’s delight at being associated with the Turf Club……
