Guyana Women come within a whisker of beating Trinidad

Guyana’s Women cricket team narrowly lost to their Trinidad and Tobago counterparts on Sunday in a match of the West Indies Women’s tournament in St. Lucia.

Batting first, Trinidad scored 205-8 off their allotted overs and in reply, Guyana reached 202-9.

Scores:

T&T 205 for eight off 50 overs (Anisha Mohammed 81 not out, Kirbyiana Alexander 73)

Guyana  202 for nine off 50 overs (Tremagne Smart 62, Shermaine Campbell 29; Alisha Mohammed 2-14, Gaigri Seethahal 2-18, Kirbyiana Alexander 2-34, Stacy Ann King 2-39.

In another encounter, Barbados defeated St. Vincent and the Grenadines by four wickets.

SVG 126 for nine off 35 overs (Cordel Jack 49; Charlene Taitt 3-14, Deandra Dottin 2-9, Rashida Goring 2-23)

Barbados  127 for six in 32 overs (Deandra Dottin 29, Rashida Goring 22; Melissa Beligny 2-14, Indomatie John 2-17)

And Jamaica defeated Grenada by 125 runs in their encounter.

Jamaica 169 for six (Stephanie Taylor 79, Jodian Morgan 40, Shanel Daley 31 not out)

Grenada 44 off 16.5 overs (Karla Cohen 3-3, Shanel Daley 2-13, Vanessa Watts 2-16)
