Drag racer crashes into tree, dies

A 51-year-old La Jalousie man died after he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a tree while allegedly racing another vehicle.

Moti Ramdin, police said last evening, was driving a pick-up with trade plates along the Crane Public Road, West Coast Demerara, and was allegedly racing another vehicle, when he crashed into a tree.

The man, according to the police statement, sustained injuries and was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
