Guyana’s top cyclists in the seniors, juniors and veterans categories will once again be on show when the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) in collaboration with the Guyana Cycling Federation host the Forbes Burnham 35-mile road race.

The event which is held in commemoration of the 85th  birth anniversary of the late   president is set to pedal off from Carifesta Avenue at 7.30 am and will proceed to Belfield before returning to the start line for the finish.
Prizes will be awarded to the first six seniors to cross the line while the first three cyclists in the juniors and veterans categories will be rewarded as well. Six prime prizes will also be at stake.

This is the third year that the event is being held in Burnham’s honour who was  served as president from 1980 – 1985. Born February 20, 1923 Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham was Prime Minister from 1966 – 1980. He passed away on August 6, 1985.
