McGill Superstars continue to dominate

McGill Superstars continue to star in the West Demerara zone of the Hand-in-Hand limited overs knockout competition.

Last Saturday they defeated All Youths Sports Club by 128 runs at the Canal Number Two Sports Club ground, West Bank Demerara.

Batting first upon winning the toss, McGill Superstars scored 306 for 8 wickets off their allotted 40 overs.

Sudesh Persaud top-scored with 67 while Veeru Singh and Prahalad Singh supported with 48 and 44 runs respectively.

Bowling for All Youths, Ricky Persaud grabbed 4-52 and Jagdesh Persaud 2-45.

All Youths in reply were bowled out for 178 runs in 31 overs. The top scorers for All Youths were Ricky Persaud, 32, and Anand Gangadeen, 30.

Bowling for McGill was Sudesh Persaud who bagged 5-40 and Azar Deen took 2-32.
In other games, La Grange defeated Rising Storm, Independence got the better of Gasper United, Cornelia Ida beat Leonora and Players outclassed New Windsor. Other teams advancing to the next round are Cultural, Uitvlugt Sports Club and Windsor Forest.
