Easter Jam for seawall bandstand

Following on the heels of several successful gospel concerts in recent years, Toronto-based Guyanese DJ Evangelist will be in Guyana again this Easter to host another of his “jam sessions.”

On Easter Monday, the seawall bandstand will come alive with an event billed as ‘The Real Easter Jam 2009’. The event, which is being billed as a “family affair”, will feature both local and overseas gospel artistes. The foreign contingent is led by ‘Gospel Defenda’ St Matthew accompanied by Craig C, Mr J and Baby C of Trinidad along with DJ Evangelist.  Local performers will include popular singers Kester D and Solid Youth.

According to Mark Chatarpal, one of the publicity personnel, those in attendance can expect a concert where dancing, disc jockeying, singing and comical acts and more will be in abundance.  He described the event geared towards the entire family and promised that those who attend will have an unforgettable experience.

Admission is free and starting time is 4 pm.

The affair is being sponsored by Dancehallgospel.com, Turning Point Promotions and Things Gospel. A similar event was held last year at the same venue which was followed by “The Real Christmas Jam’ held on Boxing Day as part of the festivities for Main Big Lime 2008.
