“Comfy Cozy House” for youth premieres today

According to a press release from Lorraine Harris the show aims to bring together entertainment and education while teaching morals and values to young people. Creator Lorraine ‘Aunty Lorraine’ Harris said being a child is one of the most important times in a person’s life as such she felt compelled to produce a show that will reflect at least some of the developmental needs of  Guyana’s children. She is looking forward to producing the show at least once per month and urges sponsors to support it.

Some of the messages are subtle but there is something to learn from every segment of the show, the release said. “Children only know what they are exposed to, so it is essential that they be exposed to things that can elevate their minds,” Harris said, adding that the show then fulfils the role of a surrogate parent if it is carefully planned. She said she auditioned young persons for the show in October and these sessions were facilitated by the Managing Director of Guyenterprise, Vic Insanally.

While the show was put together in a limited amount of time Harris believes it is still a good example of one way to nurture children through the use of television and as such she is asking sponsors to support it. Harris said she hopes that the show will be aired over the holiday period and, with sponsorship, to produce a show at least once per month.

The “Comfy Cozy House” will be aired on NCN
