National Men’s Week starts

In a press release MEN said the programme which is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security will start today and end on Saturday. The programme includes a National Leadership Summit set for Friday at the National Cultural Centre featuring world-renowned motivational speaker Dr Myles Munroe.

The roster of activities also includes a men’s rally set for Saturday at the National Park which, according to MEN Chairman Kwame Gilbert will bring together 15,000 men from across the country in a show of solidarity to the cause of men as builders of their families and the nation. Gilbert said the function is “geared at mobilizing men in an effort to educate, empower and enable men to take up their responsibilities in ending the scourge of violence, and become change agents and building blocks of society.”

The programme also includes a men’s domino competition in Linden, a rally and football competition in New Amsterdam and a rally at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground. MEN urges all men to make an effort to attend. It said too the programme is open to men of all races and religions.
