Rosignol businessman found dead with bullet to head

A 74-year-old businessman of Rosignol, West Bank Berbice was found dead in his house around 2:15 pm yesterday and it is believed that he shot himself in the head with his gun.

Reports are that Aubrey Alexander, the owner of Alex Bar Wholesale Distributor [of beverages] was alone at home at the time of the shooting.

This newspaper was told that the man’s wife, Tofa Alexander had gone out.

When she returned she discovered him lying on the bed covered in blood. At first the woman thought her husband who appeared to be dead and who suffered from hypertension had burst a blood vessel in his head.

She told investigators that she then called out to her brother who discovered the gun in the bed next to him. The woman also said she last spoke to her husband around 12:30 pm.
