Body of Alexander Village man found in river

Police have not yet ascertained the full name of a man who was found in the Demerara River yesterday.

The man’s name was given as ‘Terry’ and ‘Fire Pants’ and he is said to be of Alexander Village. According to a release from the police, the man’s body was found at about 10.45 hours in the Demerara River in the vicinity of the La Penitence koker.

His body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour and is awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
